Job Description:

GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK: Performs difficult skilled clerical and responsible administrative work performing a variety of complex office assistance and administrative tasks;  does related work as required. Work is performed under the general supervision of the RSW Superintendent.  
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS: Maintain and coordinate office operations; word processing and data processing duties; maintaining records and files; preparing reports. • Greets the public, answers telephone and e-mails for the department and ascertains nature of the business, directs to authority for disposition; • Maintains calendar and schedules appointments; • Composes, transcribes, types, proofs, edits, copies, and distributes materials (i.e., contracts, correspondence, reports, letters, memos, policies and procedures, and meeting minutes).  • Maintains complex and detailed files and records; prepares and maintains databases; prepares information brochures, etc.; • Undertakes special projects as assigned by supervisor; • Prepares a variety of complex and confidential reports requested; maintains confidential files; • Checks and reviews a variety of data for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to established standards and procedures ; • Sets up and maintains filing systems; • Attends all RSW Authority Board meetings and prepares meeting minutes; • Updates and maintains RSW social media web pages • Obtain working knowledge of other administrative functions as requested to assist others as needed; • Performs other duties as assigned. 
KNOWLEDGE. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment, and techniques; Exceptional spelling, grammar and punctuation required and a thorough knowledge of business English as well as the ability to proofread and edit; thorough knowledge of the organization of functions of the department and general administrative policies and practices; thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs to create and format documents, graphs, presentations, databases, and spreadsheets; ability to operate standard office and related equipment; ability to keep office records and to prepare accurate reports from file sources;  ability to perform and organize work independently; ability to prepare effective correspondence on routine matters and to perform routine office management details without referral to supervisor; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with associates and the general public; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in a highly interactive team-oriented work environment. 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education equivalent to graduation from high school is required, but education beyond high school is preferred. Three years of work experience as an administrative assistant performing similar duties as required by this position.  
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and  a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects, and some light work requiring
